Many coaches use the term “let the teacher be the game” so they can sit back, scrimmage, not plan a well educated session full of development, purpose and education. Allowing kids to scrimmage and play freely is obviously something that needs to be done where players are making their own decisions on and off the ball however don’t be fooled.
We hear all the time - “LET THE TEACHER BE THE GAME”. We hear it from trainers and coaches around the country but it’s important that we truly understand the meaning behind “letting the teacher be the game”.

Unless you live, eat and sleep the game of soccer where you have a certain level of skill, technique, IQ and creativity, you can’t let the teacher be the game.

Brazil, Germany, Ghana, Italy, France, England, Mexico, Morocco know nothing but soccer (futbol/football). They don’t have spring break trips. They don’t ski during the winters. They don’t have shore houses. They don’t pay attention to the Super Bowl. They don’t play 6 other sports. Their classmates aren’t wearing Lebron James jerseys. Their restaurants, their bars, their playgrounds, their teachers know nothing but soccer. It consumes their life which means they can “let the teacher be the game”. They grow up with a ball at their feet. They grow up knowing that skill and technique takes priority before ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING and they develop a certain comfort and flair with the ball at such a young age which means they can let the teacher be the game. They play (scrimmage) freely because their technique, their passion, their mindset is where it needs to be in order to play freely.

A-GAME has created that environment for players in New Jersey. We help build a certain level of skill, love for the game and a certain level of confidence on the ball to where you think and play the game a certain way to the point where you can step away from our training atmosphere and “LET THE TEACHER BE THE GAME”
